Health Camps

In partnership with Sagarmatha Health Foundation, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, and Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital, HealthCare Nepal has brought free care to thousands of people in remote villages across the country over the past 27 years, sometimes traveling multiple days by plane and jeep to “reach the hard to reach.” Health Camps are staffed by volunteer Nepalese clinicians offering a wide variety of services.

 

Some villagers walk 1 or more days to reach the health camp. Some patients require being carried.

These students were enlisted to help with registration and height and
weight measurements at a camp held at a school in Kavre District.
Sometimes school classrooms are transformed into operating rooms. Three surgeries.
For lack of indoor space, sometimes a baby might need to be delivered
on a porch, as in this birth in the Village of Marpha, Mustang District.

After getting a checkup from the camp’s pediatrician, these girls received
a bag of school supplies, a toothbrush, a comb, and other toiletries.
