In partnership with the Ophthalmology Department at Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, HealthCare Nepal has sponsored 11 Eye Camps over the past two years, screening over 1300 patients for various eye conditions. When needed, patients receive free medicines and glasses. Those requiring cataract surgery have the operation for free, with an average cost to HealthCare Nepal of $80. Comparable surgery in the United States can run between $3000-$5000.
