Shree Ram School, Koshidekha

In 2010, HealthCare Nepal and Children’s Aid Centre (Nepal) constructed an earthquake-resistant classroom building and a 4,000 gallon underground water tank at Shree Ram Higher Secondary School in Koshidekha, a 2-1/2 hour drive from Kathmandu. Fortunately, the building and water tank withstood the 2015 earthquakes and provided emergency shelter and water for villagers who lost their homes. In addition to providing relief supplies to 300 families in the immediate aftermath of the earthquakes, HCN has repaired two older buildings as well as rebuilt two that were damaged beyond repair. Most recently, we have constructed lodging at the school for teachers whose homes were destroyed in the earthquakes. Under the leadership of Rajman Tamang, Principal, the school serves 450 children from Koshidekha and surrounding villages.
